雅思大作文题目：

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

Some people think that paying taxes is enough to contribute to the society. Others argue that being a citizen involves more responsibilities.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

【题目解析】

题目大意：有些人认为交税就足以对社会作出贡献。其他人则认为，作为公民涉及更多的责任。讨论这两种观点，并给出你自己的看法。

题型特点：本题属于多方观点讨论题型。考生须针对问题的三个部分作出回应，并注意对三个部分都提供相应的细节展开。

本文结构：开头段引入话题和抛出问题、三个主体段分别回答问题的各个部分，结尾归纳个人立场。

【难点】构思过程应该注意将话题相关人群（some people和others可能是什么人群，他们的关注点是什么等），更加深入讨论。

【写作思路】

开头段：税收，特别是对销售、收入和财产征收的税收，是对社会的重要贡献。然而，有些人认为，公民身份需要承担额外的责任，而不仅仅是交税。在这篇文章中，我将对争论的双方进行研究，然后提出我自己的观点。

主体段1：支持税收作为唯一的贡献形式的人认为，政府的责任是有效地分配资源。纳税被视为许多工人的强制性义务，它使政府能够提供基本服务，如医疗保健、基础设施和教育。此外，弱势群体可能会认为，不是每个人都有同样的能力或机会做出更多的贡献，不应该把额外的要求强加给多元化社区的所有成员，特别是残疾人和孤立的老人。

主体段2：另一方面，其他人则认为，公民身份除了纳税之外，还负有额外的责任。社会活动家倾向于认为，每个公民都可以而且应该通过志愿服务和参与社区活动来做出贡献。政治家们也会认为，作为一个公民，不仅仅是享受生活在一个社会中的好处，还应该积极为社会的福祉做出贡献。在我看来，这是一个合理的主张，因为一个强大的社会需要所有成员的积极参与，而不仅仅是少数人的财政贡献。

结尾段：总之，虽然税收对任何社会的运作都是必要的，但公民身份涉及到财政义务之外的其他责任。每个公民都有义务为社会做出贡献，使其成为一个更好的地方。因此，公民参与改善他们的社会是至关重要的。

【参考范文】

Taxes, particularly those imposed on sales, income, and property, are essential contributors to society. However, some argue that citizenship entails additional responsibilities beyond simply paying taxes. In this essay, I will examine both sides of the argument before presenting my own opinion.

Proponents of taxation as the sole form of contribution argue that it is the government's responsibility to allocate resources effectively. Paying taxes is viewed as a mandatory obligation for many workers, and it enables the government to provide essential services such as healthcare, infrastructure, and education. Additionally, disadvantaged groups may argue that not everyone has the same abilities or opportunities to contribute more, and that additional requirements should not be imposed on all members of a diverse community, particularly people with disabilities and isolated elderly people.

On the other hand, others argue that citizenship carries additional responsibilities. Social activists tend to believe that every citizen can and should contribute by volunteering and participating in community events. Politicians would also argue that being a citizen is not just about enjoying the benefits of living in a society, but also about actively contributing to its well-being. In my opinion, this is a sensible claim, as a strong society requires active participation from all its members, not just financial contributions from a select few.

In conclusion, while taxes are necessary for the functioning of any society, citizenship involves additional responsibilities beyond financial obligations. Every citizen has a duty to contribute to society and make it a better place. Therefore, it is essential that citizens participate in the betterment of their society.
