　　Both words mean the same thing and its spelling depends on the country where the word is written.

　　The word Color is used in United States.

　　Coloe用于美国。

　　The word Colour is used in the rest of the English-speaking countries (England, Australia, NZ etc.)

　　Colour适用于其他英语国家，包括英国、澳大利亚、新西兰等国。

　　The more common colours in English are: black, brown, geay/grey, white, yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, green.

　　英语种常见的颜色有：黑色、棕色、灰色、白色、黄色、橙色、红色、粉红色、紫色、蓝色、绿色。

　　There are three ways that you can use a colour in a sentence to describe something:

　　1. To Be + Colour. e.g. My car is blue.

　　To Be + 颜色.例如：我的车是蓝色的。

　　2. Colour + Noun. e.g. The blue car is mine.

　　Colour + Noun. 例如：这个蓝色的车是我的。

　　3. Colour is the Noun. e.g. Blue is the colour of my car.

　　Colour is the Noun.例如：蓝色是我的车的颜色。

　　Did you know that, because colours give us more information about a person or a thing, they are adjectives in English?

　　Light - Dark - Bright

　　Light is the opposite of Dark.

　　Bright: a strong colour that is easy to see.

　　Colours + ISH

　　If you are not exactly sure how to describe a colour, we normally use the suffix -ish.

　　e.g. Greenish (= approximately green but not exactly green)

　　• The sunset is a beautiful pinkish-purplish colour today. 今天的夕阳粉色中又带点紫色。

　　Yellow: Cheese, Sun, Butter, Lemon 黄色：奶酪，太阳，黄油，柠檬

　　Green: Grass, Lettuce, Frog, Leaf, Lizard 绿色：青草，生菜，青蛙，树叶，蜥蜴

　　Blue: Sky, Ocean, Blueberry, Whale 蓝色：天空，海洋，蓝莓，鲸鱼

　　Black: Bat, Night, Tire (tyre), Fly 黑色：蝙蝠，夜晚，轮胎，苍蝇

　　White: Paper, Sugar, Milk, Snow, Sheep 白色：纸，糖，牛奶，雪，羊
