【题目解析】

题目大意：在世界上一些国家，男性和女性倾向晚育。为什么会出现这个现象？这个现象对家庭和社会有什么影响？

这个题目是一道常规的“two-question essay”题型，要求考生分别回答题目中的两个问题。

文章结构 = 开头段（改写题目+简要回答题目中的两个问题）+ 主体第一段（回答题目中第一个问题，给出两个理由）+主体第二段（回答题目中第二个问题，给出两个影响）+结尾段（总结全文）。

对于第二个题目，effect可以分为“积极”和“消极”，考生可以自己选择，但是必须要在该段的主题句中明确写明。建议effects要么都说“积极”，要么都说“消极”。

【写作思路】

开头段：改写题目 + 简要回答题目中的两个问题

主体段1：回答第一个问题（为什么一些国家的人选择晚育）

1）想要更多自由

2）养孩子成本太高

主体段2：回答第二个问题（该现象对家庭和社会的影响）

1）家庭：养孩子太累

2）社会：影响社会生产力

结尾段：总结全文

【参考范文】

Nowadays, married couples in certain places of the globe delay starting a family. This essay will initially outline the causes of this phenomenon, followed by the adverse influences that will be exerted on an individual household and the wider community.

There are primarily two factors responsible for males and females in some nations preferring to have children later in life. The first one is that young people themselves intend to enjoy a longer period of freedom. Attending to and educating a child requires a great deal of time and effort. If couples step into parenthood early, less or even no time can freely be allocated to other multifarious activities, such as travelling and entertaining. Another point is the high cost of raising children. Providing children with high-quality food, showering them with a range of different toys and offering them the best education are what parents endeavour to do. However, young parents are usually not in an economically stable position, being unable to provide these.

Despite these reasons, there are negative impacts of postponing parenthood both on families and society. To begin with, older parents may find bringing up their offspring tiring. For people in their 40s or 50s, they may not be energetic enough to change nappies and feed a baby at mid-night or play physically demanding games with their young charges. They may also have frequent conflicts with their adolescent children due to a large generation gap. Additionally, social productivity may be damaged. A later childbearing pattern slows the pace of growth and reduces the size of future population as the time between generations is longer and fewer people are being added per year. Thus, there will be a decline in the number of workers in the market.

In conclusion, the pursuit of more freedom and the enormous financial pressure of child-rearing explain why men and women choose to postpone reproduction. Nevertheless, people will no longer enjoy the experience of child-raising, and meanwhile, this trend can lead to a reduction in social productivity.
