  Some people think that the increasing use of computers and mobile phones nowadays has unwanted effects on young people's reading and writing skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

  然而,合理的使用电脑和手机有对提升年轻人的读写能力有很多帮助:

  1. 提高信息获取能力。电子设备使年轻人能够快速获取大量信息,这可能有助于提高他们的阅读速度(reading speed)和理解能力(comprehension)。

  2. 提供写作平台。社交媒体(social media)和博客(blogs)等平台为年轻人提供了展示和提高写作技能的机会。

  3. 促进创新技能。电子设备上的各种工具(tools)和应用程序(applications)可以激发年轻人的创新思维(innovative thinking),帮助他们在阅读和写作中形成新的观点(perspectives)和想法。

Social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram often present information in short, concise posts or images, which do not require the same level of critical thinking or analysis as traditional, long-form texts like books or academic articles. This can lead to a diminishing in ability to engage with complex ideas and arguments. Additionally, reliance on electronic devices with features like auto-correct and predictive input could potentially degrade their spelling and grammar skills.

  However, reasonable use of computers and mobile phones can offer several advantages in enhancing young people's literacy skills. Firstly, electronic devices improve information retrieval capabilities. They allow young people to quickly access vast amounts of information, potentially increasing their reading speed and comprehension. Secondly, these devices provide valuable writing platforms. Social media and blogs offer opportunities for young people to show and improve their writing skills by encouraging regular writing practice, which is crucial for skill development. Thirdly, electronic devices promote innovative skills. Various tools and applications can stimulate young people's innovative thinking, helping them form new perspectives and ideas in reading and writing. The interactive nature of these devices can make learning more engaging and effective.

  In conclusion, I tend to disagree that electronic products are harmful to young people's reading and writing skills. When used appropriately, they can enhance information retrieval capabilities, provide writing platforms, and foster innovation, ultimately helping young people improve their literacy skills. Therefore, the key lies in guiding young people to use electronic devices reasonably to enhance their reading and writing abilities.
