　　Describe a person who has chosen a career in the medical field (e.g. a doctor, a nurse).

　　You should say:

　　Who her/she is

　　What he/she does

　　Why he/she chose this career

　　And explain how you feel about him/her

　　I'd like to talk about my cousin, Mei Ling, who recently became a nurse at a big hospital in Guangzhou.

　　Mei Ling is 26 years old and graduated from nursing school two years ago. As a nurse, she works in the emergency department of the hospital. Her job involves a lot of different tasks. She helps doctors examine patients, gives medicines, changes bandages, and keeps an eye on patients' conditions. She also talks to patients and their families to explain treatments and give them comfort.

　　Mei Ling chose this career for a few reasons. First, she's always been a caring person who likes to help others. When we were kids, she was always the one looking after anyone who got hurt during playtime. Second, her mom (my aunt) is also a nurse, so Mei Ling grew up hearing stories about hospital life and how rewarding it can be to help people get better. Lastly, she knew that nursing is a stable job with good career prospects, which was important to her.

　　I feel really proud of Mei Ling. Being a nurse isn't easy – she often works long hours and has to deal with tough situations. But whenever I talk to her, I can tell she really loves her job. She always has interesting stories to share about the people she's helped.

　　I also admire her dedication and bravery, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. She worked extra shifts and put herself at risk to help others. It makes me see her as a kind of everyday hero.

　　Mei Ling's choice to become a nurse has made me think more about the importance of healthcare workers. They do such important work, often without much recognition. Seeing how much Mei Ling cares about her patients and how hard she works has given me a new respect for people in the medical field.
