　　American actress Natalie Portman is signed up asthe face of the iconic Dior perfume.

　　'Black Swan' star Natalie Portman has landed anew leading role as the 'face' of Miss Dior Cheriefragrance.

　　Christian Dior Parfums revealed they had signedup Portman - who has never lent her face to acosmetics or fragrance campaign until now - back in June, but details of her role remained asecret until last night.

　　The actress emerged from a transparent screen of roses in front of gathered journaliststo mark her 'poster girl' debut for Christian Dior. The logistics of the collaboration arealready well under way, with renowned fashion photographer Tim Walker having shotPortman for the print adverts, and 'Somewhere' director Sophia Coppola directing the TVcommercial.

　　WWD reported that Parfums Christian Dior chief Claude Martinez called Portman"charismatic and elegant."

　　She joins fellow Dior 'pin-ups' Charlize Theron, who appears bathed in gold for the 'J'adore'Dior perfume, and Sharon Stone, who fronts the skincare campaign.

　　Last night Portman then joined Christian Dior creative director John Galliano at opening ofthe of the newly renovated flagship boutique. She wore a black and nude lace dress byChristian Dior and lit the up the fa ade of the new store.

　　Galliano donned an exuberant leopard-print coat and a black top-hat to welcome A-listguests including actresses Liv Tyler and Amy Adams, as well as models Dree Hemmingway,Karlie Kloss and Karolina Kurkova to the celebration at the refurbished store on Manhattan's57th Street.

　　Bernard Arnault, the chief of the LVMH group which owns Christian Dior, and the Diorpresident and Chief Executive Officer Sidney Toledano, flew over from France to see the 5,000square foot store which was closed for five months while the renovations took place.
