雅思口语范文：A traditional festival

　　Describe a traditional festival in China. You should say:

　　What it is.

　　When it is celebrated.

　　How it is celebrated.

　　What you usually do on that day.

　　What you like and what you dislike about it.

　　Thank you for the opportunity to speak to you. I am sure you will find my talk interesting and informative.

　　a) If I had to describe a traditional festival, I would choose to speak about the Chinese New Year Festival.

　　b) I think you have heard of it as the Spring Festival.

　　2.

　　a) This festival is on the first day of the Chinese New Year.

　　b) That is to say, that it is the start of a vacation for lots of people.

　　3.

　　a) The vacation will often last for 10 or 15 days.

　　b) This is because the Lantern Festival is on the 15th day of the first lunar month, and will then be the end of the vacation.

　　There are several reasons as for why I like the Spring Festival. Allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.

　　a) First of all, family members that have not seen each other for some time will get together at this time.

　　b) What I mean to say is that people will go to a lot of trouble and expense to be with their families at this time.

　　5.

　　a) Secondly, it is a very joyous time of the year, with best wishes being sent all around.

　　b) For instance, there are firework displays, dinner parties, and dumplings at midnight, and the elder generations give money to the youngsters.

　　6. So, those were some thoughts on why I like the Chinese New Year Festival.
