More and more people no longer read the newspaper or watch TV programs to get news. They get news about the world through the Internet. Is this a positive or negative development?

With news online dispersing like wildfire [独立主格作状语], the heyday of the newspaper industry and television news programs has gone. I tend to think this trend irresistible and positive [表态]. This [逻辑衔接]is partly because the Internet — a vast storehouse of digital information — is convenient for people to dig for previous news, whereas [对比] neither the printed paper material nor the TV programs are easy to preserve for information searching.
