2022年7月16日雅思写作考试已经结束啦，小编搜集整理了本次雅思写作task2：奥运会的意义相关范文，供雅思考生参考。

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

Some people think that the Olympic Games can bring nations together. Others, however, think that it is a waste of money.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

【题目解析】

题目大意：有的人认为奥运会让世界各国团结，而另一些人认为奥运会浪费钱。

这个题目属于“讨论文”题型，要求考生1）讨论双方观点，2）给出个人观点。

值得注意的是：“讨论双方观点”指“分别论证题目两个观点的合理性”。

每一个主体段需要2个点进行论证，并且给出合理的解释，且两个主体段需保持篇幅大致相同。

【写作思路】

Para 1 = 题目改写 + 文章结构 + 个人观点

奥运会可以促进世界团结，并不浪费钱

Para 2 = 论证题目第一个观点的合理性

1）各国政府全力支持，2）运动员、裁判员和观众合作并关注

Para 3 = 论证题目第二个观点的合理性

1）修多余的场馆，2）会后不利用场馆

Para 4 = 总结全文 + 个人观点

【参考范文】

There are those who opine that the Olympic Games play a vital role in uniting people across the globe while the opposing stance is that holding this event squanders money. This essay will initially analyse the two ideas, followed by a presentation of my perspective, which is that the Olympic Games can encourage world cooperation and are not a waste of financial resources.

It is justified for some to favour the possibility of the Olympics making nations united. To begin with, governments worldwide fully support the occurrence of the event. This can be illustrated by the Olympic torch relays being held across the world and leaders of different countries attending the opening ceremony. Another point is the participation of people from all corners of the globe. Regardless of their cultures, races, and political beliefs, athletes compete for the best performance, judges collaborate closely to ensure the smooth operation, and billions of people watch the games in person and online.

However, it is also true that holding the Olympic Games wastes money. This is primarily because numerous new structures need to be constructed. In some host countries where high-quality stadiums are already in place, new ones are also required only to meet the Olympic standards, which leads to the consequence that the amount of money spent exceeds the budget. Moreover, many Olympic constructions will be abandoned once the event is finished. In other words, no sporting activities are not held there, or they are closed to the public for visiting as tourist attractions.

In conclusion, I believe that both sides of the argument are reasonable. On balance, my firm opinion is that the Olympics benefit the world, and the money will not be wasted. This event, as far as I am concerned, can bring people together to root for the athletes and make it happen. However, if host countries adopt measures to make use of the venues and stadiums, the waste of money can be avoided.
