　　Describe a time you taught something new to a younger person.

　　You should say:

　　When it happened

　　What you taught

　　Who you taught

　　And how you felt about the teaching

　　One memorable experience of teaching something new to a younger person occurred last summer, during a family reunion. I had the opportunity to teach my 10-year-old cousin, Lily, how to ride a bicycle.

　　Lily had always been anxious about learning to ride, but she expressed a strong desire to overcome her fear. Seeing her enthusiasm, I decided to help her. We went to a nearby park with a spacious, flat area perfect for beginners. I started by explaining the basics of balance, pedaling, and steering. Then, with my hands firmly on the back of her seat, I guided her as she practiced.

　　Over the next couple of hours, Lily gradually gained confidence. My approach was to offer constant encouragement, celebrate small victories, and patiently address her concerns. After several attempts and a few minor falls, she finally managed to ride a short distance on her own. The look of joy and accomplishment on her face was priceless.

　　Teaching Lily to ride a bicycle was incredibly rewarding. It made me realize the importance of patience, encouragement, and clear communication in teaching. Witnessing her progress and the boost in her confidence was deeply fulfilling. It reminded me of the impact that patience and support can have on someone’s learning journey.

　　This experience not only strengthened my bond with Lily but also gave me a sense of pride and satisfaction, knowing that I had helped her achieve something she had been afraid of. It was a valuable lesson in the joy of teaching and the power of perseverance.
