2025年5月雅思口语新题part2&3: 和别人的争论范文　

　　Describe a disagreement you had with someone.

　　You should say:

　　Who you had the disagreement with

　　What the disagreement was

　　What happened

　　And explain how you felt about it

　　I'd like to talk about a disagreement I had with my roommate, Sarah, about a year ago. We've been sharing an apartment since university, and we generally get along really well, but this particular issue caused quite a bit of tension between us.

　　The disagreement was about our different standards of cleanliness. I'm someone who likes to keep common areas tidy and clean up immediately after cooking, while Sarah tends to be more relaxed about these things. She would often leave dishes in the sink overnight or forget to wipe down countertops after preparing food.

　　Things came to a head one weekend when I returned from visiting my parents and found the kitchen in a complete mess - with three days' worth of dirty dishes piled up and food scraps all over the counter. I was really frustrated and confronted Sarah about it quite harshly. She became defensive, saying I was being too uptight and controlling about the apartment.

　　We ended up having a heated argument that day, and we both said some things we later regretted. We actually didn't speak to each other for almost two days afterward, which felt really uncomfortable since we were living in the same small space.

　　Looking back, I felt quite justified in my concerns, but I wish I had approached the conversation more calmly. The silent treatment definitely made things worse. Eventually, we sat down and had a proper chat about our expectations and worked out a cleaning schedule that we could both agree on. This experience taught me a lot about compromise and how important it is to address issues respectfully before they build up. Our friendship actually became stronger after working through this disagreement.
