2024年9月雅思口语新题part2&3: 描述你丢失贵重物品的一次经历范文　

　　Describe a time when you lost a valuable item.

　　You should say:

　　When and where it happened

　　How much the item was

　　How you lost it

　　And explain how you felt about the experience

　　I'd like to talk about a time when I lost my smartphone, which was quite valuable to me. This happened about two years ago when I was traveling on a train from Beijing to Shanghai.

　　The phone was a new model that I had bought just a few months earlier. It cost me around 4,000 yuan, which was quite a lot for me as a university student. But it wasn't just the money – the phone had all my contacts, photos, and important information.

　　I lost it in a really silly way. I was sitting in the train, listening to music with my headphones. When we arrived at a station, I got up to stretch my legs and walk around a bit. I left my phone on the seat, thinking I'd be back in just a minute. But I got distracted talking to another passenger and forgot all about it. When I remembered and rushed back to my seat, the phone was gone.

　　I felt awful when I realized what had happened. At first, I was angry with myself for being so careless. Then I started to panic, thinking about all the personal information on the phone. I asked the train staff for help, but they couldn't do much.

　　The whole experience was quite stressful and embarrassing. I had to borrow a fellow passenger's phone to call my parents and let them know what happened. It was a hard lesson in being more careful with my belongings, especially when traveling.

　　On the bright side, this experience taught me to be more mindful of my things. I now make sure to always keep important items close to me, and I regularly back up my data. While losing the phone was upsetting, it helped me become more responsible and careful in the long run.
